Role Responsibilities
Your time will be spent providing attentive care, planning engaging age-appropriate activities, encouraging learning through play, and getting out and about whenever possible. The role also includes preparing healthy meals and snacks for the children and helping to keep their play areas and the kitchen tidy after use. For candidates looking for some additional hours, there may also be occasional opportunities for weekend babysitting, arranged in advance.

The Role
This is a broad and varied role suited to someone who enjoys being involved in all aspects of estate maintenance and management. You’ll take responsibility for routine repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, and responding efficiently to issues across the estate as they arise.

Day to day, you’ll carry out a range of maintenance tasks which may include: basic decorating, basic plumbing, minor repairs, carpentry, and the upkeep of external areas such as pathways, gutters, and wider estate infrastructure. You’ll also coordinate and oversee contractors where specialist support is required, obtaining quotations and ensuring works are delivered to a high standard and with good value in mind.

Alongside the practical elements of the role, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider estate team, support ongoing improvement projects, liaise professionally with tenants and representatives, maintain accurate records, and ensure all works are completed safely and in line with current regulations.

There will also be an element of out-of-hours availability to respond to emergency maintenance issues when required.

You will be responsible for maintaining and nurturing the estate’s produce garden, orchard, and cutting garden, ensuring healthy growth throughout the seasons. The role also includes caring for lawns and landscaped areas using a range of gardening machinery and tools, alongside supporting the upkeep of woodland areas, fields, ponds, pathways, and hard landscaping.

Seasonal gardening duties such as pruning, planting, mulching, composting, fertilising, trimming, and leaf clearance will form part of the day-to-day responsibilities.
