Skilled Gardener Wanted for an Established Private Estate near Marlow, Buckinghamshire

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
Salary: Between £35,000 – £39,000 gross per annum, depending on experience
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Gardener to join a prestigious private estate near Marlow, Buckinghamshire. This is a lovely opportunity for an accomplished private gardener who enjoys taking ownership of their work and maintaining beautiful, established grounds to an exceptionally high standard.
The estate offers plenty of variety, with productive gardens, mature woodland, lawns, ponds, orchards and a developing wildflower meadow. No two seasons will look quite the same, so the family is looking for someone with excellent all-round horticultural knowledge who is confident managing a varied workload throughout the year.
Strong knowledge of orchards, trees and tree management would be particularly valuable, alongside a practical, hands-on approach and a genuine pride in keeping the estate looking its best.
Role Responsibilities
Working across the estate, you’ll play an important role in the ongoing care, maintenance and development of the gardens and wider grounds. This includes tending to the productive garden, orchard and cutting garden, as well as looking after lawns, landscaped areas, woodland, fields, ponds, pathways and hard landscaping.
Throughout the seasons, you’ll undertake a wide range of horticultural work including skilled pruning, planting, mulching, composting, fertilising, trimming and leaf clearance. You’ll also be confident identifying potential plant and tree health issues and taking the appropriate action when needed.
The role requires someone comfortable using a range of professional gardening machinery and tools, with the experience and knowledge to approach tasks confidently both independently and alongside the established estate team.
Ideal Candidate:
- A minimum of five years’ professional private gardening or private estate experience
- Knowledgeable, capable and confident working to the high standards expected on a prestigious private estate
- Experienced in using professional gardening and landscaping machinery
- Proactive and organised, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within an established estate team
