About the Family
A kind and down-to-earth family of four are looking for a part-time, live-in housekeeper to help keep their lovely countryside home running smoothly. The house is set in a peaceful rural location just a few minutes from Stockbridge and Andover.
Although the two children (aged 19 and 16) are mostly away at university and boarding school, the home is still very much in use and kept to a high standard. The family are relaxed and informal but value someone who takes pride in their work and can manage their time well. They are also dog lovers and are hoping to find someone who feels the same, as their two small dogs are very much part of the household.
Role Responsibilities
This is a part-time housekeeping role (20–25 hours per week), with flexibility in how the hours are arranged across the week (as long as Mondays are included). Duties include general housekeeping such as cleaning, tidying, laundry and ironing (including care of fine linens and delicate clothing), and changing bed linens.
You’ll also be responsible for the care of two small dogs during working hours and when the family is away — including feeding, companionship, and walking when needed. Other occasional tasks include taking in deliveries, liaising with tradespeople, and running local errands such as dropping off at the post office or dry cleaners. There is no cooking required.
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in a similar live-in housekeeping role
- Warm, trustworthy, and able to work independently with good initiative
- High standards and a strong eye for detail
- Must be confident with dogs and enjoy their company
- Full UK driving licence
Accommodation
A lovely, self-contained annexe is offered as part of the role, with a spacious bedroom, bathroom, private sitting room and kitchen.
