Live-in Housekeeper/Cook – Stow-on-the-Wold, Cotswolds
Location: Near Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire
Accommodation: One-bedroom private flat with all utilities included
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, with flexibility
Salary: £32,000 to £40,000 (based on experience)
About the Role
This is a long-term live-in position based in the beautiful Cotswolds, supporting a warm and respectful couple in the running of their much-loved countryside home. The role requires a proactive, trustworthy, and detail-oriented Housekeeper/Cook who enjoys working independently and takes pride in creating a well-run and welcoming environment.
You’ll be responsible for the daily care and upkeep of the house to an exceptional standard — from housekeeping and laundry to food preparation, stocking supplies, and caring for fine clothing, silver, and specialist furniture. The family divides their time between this property and another residence, so during quieter periods, you’ll have flexibility in managing your own schedule and will enjoy peaceful time in a beautiful rural setting.
Cooking is an enjoyable part of the role — the family appreciates simple, delicious meals and would love someone who can also support with menu planning, prepare food for the freezer, and occasionally assist with entertaining. When they're away, caring for their three friendly dogs becomes a priority, so a genuine love of animals is essential.
You’ll also help with occasional errands, pick-ups from the local train station, and coordinate with tradespeople and the groom to ensure everything runs smoothly in their absence.
