Friendly and Experienced Part-Time Housekeeper for a Private Estate in Henley-on-Thames
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Henley-on-Thames (live-out)
Working Hours: 3 to 4 days a week: 9am–5pm (1-hour lunch break)
Salary: £45,000 pro rata (approximately £22 gross per hour)
About the Family
A lovely opportunity has arisen to join a warm and considerate young family living on a beautiful private estate just outside Henley-on-Thames. They are looking for a capable and detail-focused housekeeper to become part of their established household team.
The role will be primarily based in a charming cottage on the estate, ensuring it is maintained to an exceptional standard and runs smoothly day to day. There may occasionally be some support required in the main house, working alongside the full-time housekeeper team, but your main focus will be the cottage.
As this is a young family, they would really value someone with childcare experience who is happy to step in from time to time and offer an extra pair of hands when needed.
The family also have two friendly dogs. There is a dedicated dog walker, so no pet care is required, but you’ll need to be comfortable with dogs around the estate.
Role Responsibilities
You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day upkeep of the cottage, ensuring all areas are cleaned and presented beautifully. Laundry will form an important part of the role, including careful washing, ironing, garment care and neatly putting everything away. You’ll help keep cupboards, storage spaces and household systems organised, as well as monitor and replenish supplies.
There will be occasional errands, such as picking up groceries, and you’ll be trusted to notice and report any maintenance issues promptly. From time to time, you may also lend a hand with light support for small household gatherings.
Alongside this, the family would appreciate someone who enjoys cooking and is happy to assist in the kitchen, whether that’s helping with the family’s day-to-day routine, preparing simple, healthy meals, or supporting with prep for informal dinners or small events.
The family truly value someone who works independently, takes initiative and naturally keeps everything ticking along.
