Experienced Housekeeper for a Private Family Home in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire

Salary: £45,000–£50,000 gross per annum (Depending on Experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
About the Family
A lovely opportunity to join a welcoming family in their beautiful home in Henley-on-Thames. The property is maintained to an exceptionally high standard, but the atmosphere is relaxed, respectful and family-focused. This is a long-term position for an experienced housekeeper who takes pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail, and enjoys creating a well-organised and beautifully presented home environment.
The family has children, so they would value someone who feels comfortable around children and is happy to occasionally lend an extra pair of hands when needed.
Role Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the day-to-day housekeeping of the family home, ensuring it is maintained to an immaculate standard at all times. Duties will include detailed cleaning, care of fine furnishings and delicate finishes, laundry, ironing, wardrobe management, and the general organisation of the household.
The family would also love to find someone who enjoys cooking and would be happy to assist with simple family meals or food preparation from time to time. Whilst cooking experience would be a significant bonus, it is by no means essential.
There may also be additional opportunities to support with childcare when required, making this an ideal role for someone with previous nannying experience or a genuine confidence around children.
Ideal Candidate
- Experienced working in private households with high standards
- Local to Henley-on-Thames or within a reasonable commuting distance
- Comfortable around children, with previous nannying or childcare experience highly desirable
- Meticulous, organised and proactive
- Enjoys cooking and happy to assist with meal preparation when needed (a bonus rather than a requirement)
- Confident driver with your own car
