Salary: £45,000–£50,000 gross per annum
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm. Working 1 in 5 weekends on rotation, with two days off in the week when covering a weekend.
About the Household
A wonderful opportunity to join a long-established and beautifully run private estate in Henley-on-Thames. The household is supported by a dedicated team of five housekeepers who work closely together to maintain exceptional standards throughout the property.
The estate is maintained to a very high standard, yet the working environment remains warm, respectful and professional. It’s a well-structured home where everyone supports one another and takes real pride in their work.
This is a family home, and they would really value someone who feels at ease around children and is happy to step in and offer an extra pair of hands when needed.
Role Responsibilities
Working as part of the established housekeeping team, you’ll be involved in all aspects of day-to-day housekeeping across both the main house and the estate cottage, ensuring both are maintained to an impeccable standard.
Your responsibilities will include detailed cleaning, careful care of fine furnishings and delicate finishes, and keeping all areas beautifully presented. Laundry is a key part of the role, including ironing, garment care and wardrobe organisation, with particular attention to high-end clothing and linens. You’ll rotate duties with the wider team and provide support where needed to ensure everything runs smoothly across the estate.
The family would also appreciate someone who enjoys cooking and is happy to assist in the kitchen when needed, whether that’s supporting with simple family meals, helping with food preparation, or lending a hand ahead of informal dinners or small gatherings.
At times, you may also be asked to step in and assist with the children, so a genuine ease around children is important.
This is very much a collaborative, team-focused environment, suited to someone organised, proactive and proud of maintaining high standards.
